Lulu

Lulu is available for adoption

Sponsored by Marc and Jackie – in loving memory of Shep

Meet Miss Lulu.

She is an 8 month old Husky mix, 35lbs and full of energy. It is estimated that she will settle in around 40lbs.

LuLu came into rescue with injuries that resulted in pelvic fractures. After consulting with an orthopaedic surgeon it was felt that LuLu would not require surgery. With strict crate rest and pain management, Lulu was given the time to heal. Periodic x-rays throughout this period showed that she was progressing as hoped. Lulu recently had a final set of x-rays and her primary care veterinarian is very pleased with her. LuLu is a happy, healthy, and active girl who will have no restrictions or limitations moving forward. Her range of motion will never be 100% but this will have no impact on her quality of life.

Lulu knows her name, and has good recall. She is housetrained, she will paw the bell on the back door when she wants to go out, and scratches on the door when she wants in.

Lulu loves her walks, with minimal pulling, and corrects nicely.

She interacts well with people and other dogs, but being a puppy, gets excited easily, (she isn’t aggressive),so young children might be a concern. No idea how she would do with cats, as she hasn’t experienced any to date. .

Lulu’s ideal family would be an active one. Being a Husky, Lulu will need exercise daily, probably multiple times a day. The applicant should also have experience with the breed, so both they and Lulu are a good fit with one another.

She sleeps in her corral in her foster parents bedroom. She also has been crated, (not happy at all ), when her foster family goes out. Relaxing dog music is put on for her , and she eventually settles down. Currently she would not do well crated for more than a couple of hours at a time.

So what do you think? Is this beautiful little girl a fit for you?
