Bobby

Bobby is available for adoption

Sponsored in honour of my beautiful boy Chester who lost his life to cancer on January 28, 2024.

Bobby is a Westie mix from Tennessee. He is a tiny fellow but big on personality. He gets along well with his 2 foster siblings and the cat. He is housetrained and enjoys exploring the yard after taking care of business. Bobby returns inside when called and settles into his bed or the couch. Bobby likes to follow his foster mom about during the day but settles into his crate overnight or when he has to be left alone. He does bark when foster mom returns so an apartment or condo might not be suitable.

Bobby’s left eye was removed recently in Tennessee as it was very painful. He has recovered nicely but small children would not be a good choice in his new home as they would not be mindful of this vision loss.

As we do not have a prior history on Bobby we can not be 100% sure of the issue that necessitated his eye being removed. The most likely cause was untreated glaucoma. Bobby had a post-surgery visit at Kingsdale Animal Hospital and he has healed beautifully. As he does have some degree of a cataract in his remaining eye, it has been recommended that Bobby be on an eye medication (1 drop, twice a day) going forward. Due to his history, close attention should be paid to his eye and any changes would warrant a vet visit.

Bobby did have some red and irritated skin when he was first seen. This has resolved well and was most likely caused by fleas. Along with his enucleation, Bobby had a dental. He is a healthy and happy boy.”

Bobby is ready for his new life to begin!
