Let me introduce you to the cutest, sweetest little Chihuahua ever. I know, I know, how can a chihuahua be any cuter.
Maeve is from Tennessee and has needed time to recover from a fractured pelvis suffered when she was hit by a car as a stray. Maeve’s recent xrays showed that while her pelvic fracture has shown great improvement it did not heal 100% and it is doubtful there will be any further change. This does not cause her any issues whatsoever and while all dogs should be kept at a healthy weight it is even more important for Maeve sot that there will not be an extra burden on her pelvis. She also had a small lump removed from the top of her head; it was not causing any health issues but it would have continued to grow without the removal. Maeve does ask to go out when she needs a bathroom break, but if the cue is missed, she does have accidents. If you work or will be working, I think training her to pee pads should be fairly easy as she is habitual about where she goes if she really can’t wait; enlisting the help of a dog walker will definitely help to break up the day too.
Maeve is a loving, cuddly little girl who, though timid at first, will offer kisses and loving gazes once she is comfortable with her family. She loves to give kisses and will look up at you with adoring eyes that just melt the heart. Her favourite activity is to be on the sofa, in a chair, or in bed cuddled up. Her other favourite is her walks. She loves her walks and don’t be surprised if she politely insists on a different direction to yours. She walks very well on a leash, happily returning to your side when needed. When I have to run an errand, Maeve can be left alone free in the house, so far leaving her for up to 2 hours without any problems. Happy dances when you get home are to be expected. She is timid with new people, so she will definitely need time to get to know her forever family and anyone coming into the house. She is not comfortable around small children; best suited for a family with young adults and an easy going dog to help her find her confidence. She is great with small and large dogs that are calm and friendly towards other dogs and is great with dog friendly cats and rabbits free running around her. In the company of other dogs, she finds her voice to announce the entrance of people in the house, eats her own food and tries to steal the other dog’s food too. Maeve is at her best in the company of another dog, by herself in a home can be very picky about her food and very quiet. Maeve is definitely a little Princess and her forever home will need to know that she wants to be loved and doted on no matter if there is another dog or not. This little sweetheart with ample amounts of love will return all that love 10 fold and more.
