Luna

Luna is available for adoption

Sponsored in thanksgiving for Jude, Desmond and MollyJones

Sugar is the best word to describe Luna. More specifically, icing sugar – the super sweet white powdery stuff.

Luna arrived as a retired breeding dog who lacked the experience of being a pet. In a very short time, she learned that sofas are a great place to sleep, toys, especially the soft and squeaky ones, are a lot of fun and the backyard is where bathroom business happens. A fenced-in yard would be something she would love in a future home.

Luna is on the timid side but she is brave. it takes her a bit of time to warm up to someone but her curiosity helps her overcome her shyness.

She currently lives with 3 senior dogs and one cat. She looks to her furry foster siblings for leadership and learns from them. She has never demonstrated any signs of aggression and reacts appropriately to cues from well trained dogs.

A new home with another dog would be ideal.

Luna would be described as low to moderate energy level – she is always willing to go for a walk or play fetch but is also content to nap next to her person or under their desk while at work.

She sleeps really well in a crate overnight next to her foster parent’s bed but does not like the crate during the day.

She interacted with young children a couple of times and was gentle.

Luna recently had a visit with our vet, including a full dental exam and is a healthy girl.  As is very common in small dogs, Luna has a luxating patella in her right, rear leg. The vet graded it as 2-3 and her mobility is not affected. This grade of luxation is not requiring surgical intervention. To optimize Luna not having issues in the future, she needs to be kept at a healthy weight. Supplements such as glucosamine chondroitin and/or omegas can also be helpful.

Luna would make a wonderful addition to a family or individual as long as she gets lots of love. This sweet girl is ready to start the next phase of her life – as a beloved 4-legged family member.
