Fred is adopted!
Fred / Male / Neutered / Lab Cross / 43 Lbs / 8 years old / Adoption fee: $400.00
UPDATE (December 4th): After having several badly rotted teeth removed and an abscess cleaned up, Fred is feeling like a new man! He has been prancing around like a puppy and is starting to play with his foster siblings!
Fred is a friendly loving boy who has been through some tough times in his life.
Fred needs to take a pill every day to treat a minor heart condition and has recently had surgery to remove a tumour (that the vet assures us is very unlikely to come back). In spite of these challenges, Fred is an energetic senior who loves to run and play in the backyard and has lots of energy on walks.
Fred has adjusted quickly to the cats, dogs and people in his foster home. He is extremely good natured and loves to be patted. His tail wags all the time – even when he is drinking!
He doesn’t seem to respond to spoken commands but is definitely eager to please. He gets startled when he doesn’t see something or someone behind him. His foster family suspects that he may be hard of hearing.
Fred deserves to spend the golden years of his life in a loving comfortable home with a fenced yard to keep him safe. We think that Fred loves people of all ages but he would do best in a home without young children who might accidentally surprise him. He has difficulty going up and down our steep stairs so a home with limited stairs would be best for him.
Fred is a gentle soul who has so much love to give to a forever family.
