Dillon is adopted!
Dillon / Male / Hound Mix / 10 years old / 85 lbs / Adoption fee is $300.00
Dillon is a sweet, gentle 10 year old Blue Tick Hound Mix, 85 Pounds who loves to go for a walk and for a boy who likely never got walks in his life he does it beautifully. Dillon is ready for a new life as his old one was not so good. He is the forgiving sort though. He is house trained and he likes the comfort of a crate and will go there at night as his preferred place to sleep. He has not needed the door closed as he is not destructive. Dillon loves people and is really enjoying spending time in the house as he was an outdoor dog before.
Dillon has been good with all the dogs he has met and he has lived with cats and dogs. We have not seen any aggression at all. Just a sweet nature.
Because Dillon was not exercised his muscles are weak in his back legs. We are slowly building up his muscles and have started him on medications to help with his mild arthritis. He is also on an eye med for Horners Syndrome which is a self limiting eye affliction. Hopefully he will soon recover from this. He is amazing really as since he has come into rescue he has beside being neutered, had a dental, had some lumps and bumps removed and then developed bloat and had his stomach tacked in place. Luckily all this happened in rescue with people who cared about him and were willing to invest in this old boy. So Dillon is kind of special and fixed up like a new penny. With his stomach tack he should not be able to develop bloat easily now.
Dillon really just now needs a forever home to finish out his senior years. He is not going to jumping all over the house but more plodding along and enjoying your company. He would be fine if you had another dog but don’t expect Dillon to play. He will need to be leashed always being a hound when not in a secure back yard or his nose will carry him away. He won’t bark much, just when he wants out. You cannot help but fall in love with Dillon. He really is that sweet!!
Please note that while we continue to get to know each of our dogs, their biographies will be updated with additional information, so make sure to check back once in a while!
