Fancy was found as a stray in Kentucky. Why her family did not track her down is a mystery. She is a perfect little girl. House trained, good on a leash, friendly to both people and dogs she meets, and a master cuddler, she would be the ideal addition to any home.
If you are looking for a dog that shows lots of affection, this is the dog for you. She is a big kisser…a really big kisser…especially when she first wakes up in the morning.
Fancy would be happy to be in a home with another dog, but would also be happy to be on her own, where she gets all of the attention. She loves to run around and explore, so a secure fully fence yard is essentially. She is living with our three dogs, and they get along famously.
Despite being a Jack Russell Terrier mix, she is not high energy. She likes chase a ball or run after toys if they are tossed, but she is equally happy to sit on the couch and take in life. She is not very vocal, and rarely barks.
Her favourite spot in the house is curling up in bed at night nestled between her foster parents. Cuddling on the couch is her next favourite thing to do.
She has been around kids around age 10 and does fine. We think she would do well with children of any age.
While she is very affectionate, she can also be independent. She is happy to curl up in a corner on her own, or head off to the bedroom for a sleep. She is learning all about bones and loves to pass time with a good chew.
She is not crate trained, and does not do well in one. We do not recommend leaving her alone for more than 4 hours. She is too interested in being with her humans.
Fancy is spayed and is up to date on her shots. We think she is about 3, but as she was a stray, we cannot know her age for sure. She is easily carried, weighing about 15 pounds.
She would benefit from training to deal with basic commands, as she is not clear on things like stay and come. But, that is a pretty minor deficiency in what is a great dog.
So, if you want a dog that needs to feel noticed and wants your attention, love and affection on a regular basis, this might just be the perfect dog for you.
