Rosie is adopted

Rosie is a sweet, careful, and quiet dog who loves the outdoors. She is very friendly and loves company and to be petted, but can be timid at times and until she gets to know you. She is friendly with small animals and other dogs, though she seems a bit unsure of larger dogs. Rosie would do well in a home with another dog(s) if they were smaller and careful with her. Rosie would also do best in a quieter home without young children running around all of the time. Rosie loves being around people and warms up fairly quickly, but can be overwhelmed by large groups of people.
Rosie’s ideal forever home would be with someone who can provide the gentle care she requires and is home during some part of the day to let her outside or take her for walks (Rosie lights up when she is outside, walks are her favourite!). Having Rosie on a leash during walks is important as she loves to chase bunnies and squirrels! Rosie is housetrained but does not always speak up when she has to go, so this is another reason that she would do best in a home with someone home during the day who can be responsive and take her out regularly.
Rosie was an owner surrender to an Ontario shelter when her people could no longer care for her. Once in the shelter it became apparent that she had some veterinary issues that needed to be sorted out and the shelter reached out to Save Me for help.
Rosie is currently on medication for hypothyroidism which she will always need. It is also suspected that Rosie has Cushings Disease and we are currently doing the tests to investigate this. Cushings is a disease that is well managed with medication. Once we get everything regulated for this extremely sweet girl she will be having a much needed dentistry.
Everyone who meets Rosie is struck by what an amazing little dog she is. She is great with people, dogs, cats, and even turtles!
