Mission Statement

Save Me Rescue is a registered charity organization dedicated to rescuing homeless and abandoned dogs from high-kill shelters and owners who can no longer care for them. By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, local veterinarians, trainers, and boarding facilities, we are able to rescue many animals every year, provide them with loving temporary care and find them well-matched, carefully screened forever homes. Today is Giving Tuesday and an anonymous supporter

Today is Giving Tuesday and an anonymous supporter has generously offered to match $500.00 of Giving Tuesday donations. We would be honoured if you considered donating to Save Me this Giving Tuesday and thanks to the anonymous supporter, you can double your impact.

Donations will go towards the care of our wonderful foster dogs like Snowflake who is arriving soon. As evidenced by her before pictures Snowflake has suffered from horrible neglect. We will be starting with a thorough check-up, including a geriatric blood panel to make sure she is a candidate for anaesthetic. This will also let us know of there are any issues, that we are currently unaware of, that need to be addressed. She has severe periodontal disease and will need an extensive dental.

We will be investigating what is causing her abnormal gait with one of her rear legs.

Due to how severely matted and neglected she was, there are some skin issues that will need to be addressed and we do expect this to improve with proper care and medication.

If you would like to donate to Save Me this Giving Tuesday and help dogs like Snowflake, e-transfers and PayPal can be received at donations@savemedogrescue.ca. For e-transfers, please send an email with your full address for a tax receipt (issued for donations of 20.00 and up).

Surprise! Hope joined us last weekend after bein

Surprise!

Hope joined us last weekend after being part of a large scale rescue from a horrible hoarding situation. Yesterday we had confirmation that she is pregnant. By the X-rays we knew she is at least 45 days along but last night she started to show some nesting behaviour and her temperature dropped and in the early morning hours she gave birth to two beautiful little puppies!

We are grateful that she was able to have her puppies in a safe and healthy environment and she did amazing! She is a great mama!

We would like to thank Christine Ramsey for all of her help in making it possible for Hope to come to us. Also, a big thank you to her amazing foster mom, Courtney, who had a late night as the birthing coach!
