Stamps has been adopted!
Sponsored in loving memory of our Sweet Bear who never met a rescue who came through our door he didn’t love and treated as his brother or sister.
Stamps is a Northern Dog. His foster mom says he is incredibly loyal and the SWEETEST boy. Stamps is very curious and loves to investigate all that he can (and those big ears help him!). He does well in an active household and thrives in a busy house and is happiest when he knows where his people are and what they are all up to.
He loves to explore and learn new things; he loves collecting and finding treasures to and store to play with later. He isn’t so much interested in eating them, mostly just playing with them and his all-time favorite is slippers. His most favorite thing to do is to throw a ball around, he sometimes plays fetch, but he mostly loves to throw the ball in the air, toss it and chase it around and roll on it. He will play independently with a ball for a good length of time. He loves stuffed animals and belly rubs.
Stamps absolutely loves the 7-year-old he is living with and she is his most favorite person. He does incredibly well with her and other kids this age (5-7). He needs to check on her before he heads to bed each night. He has not yet been around children who are under 5. He does not live with any cats.
Stamps is now house trained and will whine and/or paw at the door when he needs to go out. He struggles with using a crate, however, does not show any signs of separation anxiety when he is left alone in the house outside of the crate. He is a lover of early mornings and sleeps through the night.
Stamps absolutely loves other dogs. He can be a bit reactive on a leash when he sees another dog as he just wants to play and is still learning how to be leashed outdoors but responds well to correction. He is currently living with an older female dog and he spends most of his days trying to get her to play and snuggle with him. He respects her space and boundaries when he is told to. He is very much a puppy still and just wants to play! Stamps can be protective of his food with other dogs and is working through this and has made tons of progress already.
His foster mom says that Stamps is incredibly smart and driven and loves the outdoors. He very easily learns new things and commands and can learn a new trick in a matter of minutes. He can sit, lay down and shake both paws. He is working on staying and his recall. He can be skittish in new situations and environments and needs a strong owner to continue to build his confidence. Stamps is an incredibly driven and loyal companion who would thrive with a strong owner(s) who were committed to continued training, socialization and taking him on new adventures.
