Shayna

Shayna has been adopted!

Sponsored in memory of Zoey and Charlie

Shayna is a 8 year old, 20lb, terrier mix who was found in an empty lot on a old mattress in Tennessee, suffering from what looked like mange with very little fur.

Her initial diagnosis was mange and mites and has made great progress in only 4 months and now has a beautiful full coat that is black and brown.

Treatment for her condition is ongoing, and she may turn out to be a chronic needs dog with this condition, however the possible good news is that it may be seasonal allergies, we won’t know until winter (different pollens in Ontario vs Tennessee).

Shayna gets along well with other dogs and currently lives with an 80 lb Shephard; not sure about cats at this time.

She is fine with children but doesn’t seek them out.

She is not really a walking dog, and would be perfectly suited for a person who is home the majority of the day. She will always (quietly), hang around her people, and enjoys belly rubs, and her treats.

Shayna needs to do her business about every 6 hrs (medication related) and would do well in this routine to avoid accidents. She will pee and pooh, then happily trot back.

Shayna is not really an outside dog unless she is in the company of her human and while she does fit in with other dogs, would do well as an only dog in the home. Upon meeting another person, or dog she will bark, but quickly settles down.

She doesn’t look to go for car rides, but is fine, and has no issue traveling.

Overall she is a beautiful little girl looking for her fur ever home.
