Sanji

Sanji has an application in progress

Sponsored by Quinn and Bowie, Save Me alumni, in hopes that all pups get the loving families that they deserve.

Looking for all the wonderful qualities of a northern dog but in a tiny package?! Then let us introduce you to Sanji!

Sanji is a 3-year-old female northern mix originally from Attawapiskat who weighs in at a whopping 30lbs! She has all the wonderful northern qualities we love. She is social, smart, outrageously athletic and people focused.

Sanji is fully house and crate trained. She is also very people focused; she is a girl who falls in love fast so to avoid the development of separation anxiety we will be recommending the use of a crate as she transitions into her new home. Sanji is also exceptionally good with small kids and cats (yes, a northern who loves cats). She has lived with both in the past and done incredibly well. She also does well around large livestock.

Sanji is one of the most athletic dogs we have ever seen. She can run faster than any other dog at the kennel, is incredibly agile and has no fear. She would be an incredible dog for a home who is interested in sport. We took her to an agility park to test her on the equipment and she loved it! She ran through the course with zero fear trying every obstacle. This isn’t to say she doesn’t have an off switch, she does and is in fact quite calm in the home once exercised properly, but if there was a home out there who was looking for a dog to engage in sport with, she would be an amazing candidate.

Sanji does well with other dogs, but she isn’t a dog who engages in wrestling type play. She may be up for a game of chase but otherwise she is happy to just co-exist with other dogs. If a dog is overly playful, she will properly communicate that she isn’t interested in that type of play so for that reason we wouldn’t recommend her to a home with an over exuberant resident dog.

Sanji was previously adopted from rescue but returned a year later when her family’s situation changed, and they felt they could no longer give her the care she needed. Due to how quickly and deeply Sanji bonds with her people this transition was very hard for her so we want to make sure this time Sanji’s home is her forever home. If you are looking to add a whole lot of fun and adventure to your life then Sanji just may be your girl!
