Save Me remembers Sadie

In Loving Memory

It is with deep sadness that we share that Sadie passed away quietly on September 16th while being held in her mom’s loving arms.

Sadie was rescued in 2016 and paired with her foster mom, Erica, who very quickly ‘foster failed’ after falling in love with this little turkey. Sadie was one of the sweetest, funniest, most lovable souls we’ve ever met. She loved her mom tremendously, wanting to be with her wherever she went – whether that was on long walks, car rides, or sitting on the balcony with a good book. Wherever Erica was, Sadie was never far behind.

For a small dog, Sadie had the biggest personality with the funniest little quirks. She never went anywhere without carrying her favourite toys. She had the liveliest conversations with her mom, always getting in the last word. And, even though she was smaller than her fur brother, Socks, she always had a way of letting him know who was the ‘boss’. If cats could laugh, Sadie definitely made Socks chuckle every day.

In her mom’s words “this was definitely a story of ‘who rescued who’. My sweet Sadie girl, it’s amazing that such a small dog can leave such a big void. When you crossed the rainbow bridge – it was like a piece of my heart went with you. Six years was nowhere near long enough, but I am so glad that I decided to foster you and am forever grateful that I decided to make you mine. I love you, sweet girl and miss you terribly.

Thank you to Save Me Rescue for saving Sadie’s life six years ago and for making her such a special part of mine.”

Our condolences and thoughts to Sadie’s mom who gave her her best life that was full of love and happiness
