Mocha

Mocha has been adopted!

Mocha is sponsored by her foster mom Colleen, in loving memory of her brother Butterbean. Rest easy wee one.

Little Mocha came to use from a breeding/hoarding situation, along with her brother, at about 5 weeks of age. At the time of surrender, both her and her brother were in medical distress and were immediately put into ICU. Sadly, her brother (Butterbean) did not make it, but we are very grateful that she pulled through after three days in the intensive care unit.

Mocha has been in our care now since mid June. During that time we have treated her for several parasites, cleared up a severe eye infection and gotten her vaccines completed. She has overcome so much and truly thrives, both mentally and physically. Her health is great and her eye is stable, as we await her inoculation surgery in late September.

This sweet girl is full of energy and is always happy. She loves to play with toys and hide in the couch cushions. While she are not 100% house trained, she is crate trained and keeps her play pen area clean. She sleeps crated at night, with not a peep to be heard. She is a light eater when it comes to meal, but loves treats and enjoys games that involve food rewards. She knows sit and shake a paw (and “other paw”) and is always proud to show you her skills. She enjoys being outside and loves to play with her foster siblings. She understands other dogs social cues, and adjusts her level of excitement to match theirs. She’s great meeting new people, loves to be a social butterfly.

Mocha’s left eye is damaged and is expected to pose issues as she gets older, so it will need to be removed. We had been waiting to see how things were at the four month mark, but our veterinarian feels it would be best to let her age/grow another month. Her inoculation and spay will be done once she is about 5 months of age (mid Sept). Until then, she remains in foster care and is not accepting applications.

For now Mocha will remain in her foster home until she is cleared medically. We are not accepting applications for her at this time. Please check back for updates.
