Hello! My name is Smiley Miley. Thank you for looking at my profile. I am a ten month old, female, Collie mix. I am about 35lbs now. Before being rescued I was on the run for awhile so I lost a lot of weight and my fur started to fall out. I am eating well here now and gained some weight back already and my fur is growing in nice and shiny. As I get used to being around my foster family, my heart is full of love. I am full of energy and playfulness. They have taught me how to “sit”, “stay” and “paw”. I like when they give me treats and tell me I am very good girl so I will continue to do these tricks for them and I am eager to add more tricks to my repertoire. My enthusiasm for learning is unmatched. I really want to be a good girl and make my family happy. They are trying to teach me to “come” but I am a bit scared still that if I come to them they will hurt me. I want to trust them and I keep trying but I have been hurt in past. I don’t like when people touch my collar. It usually means I am going to be put someplace that I don’t want to do. My foster mom has been pretty patient with me and she usually is putting me outside to do my business or putting me in my bed so I can have a good sleep at night. I like my crate. It’s comfortable and I get a nice chew toy to keep me company if I can’t sleep right away.
I thrive on attention and I have a warm, loving nature. You won’t find a better dog to cuddle with than me! Not only am I good with the other dogs in the house, big and small, I am also good with the cats. I love their company. Sometimes I like to play too much though and the other dogs get tired. I don’t understand. Who wants to sleep during the day when it is playtime? I hope that my forever home will have another active dog that likes to play or people that want to take me on lots of adventures. I am pretty good on my leash and I am getting better all the time because I like to go outside and walk. I also like to go for car rides so I lay down and be quiet until I see where we are going to play.
Although I am a medium size dog, I would not like to live in an apartment because I like to hear my voice and talk to people. I like to go outside and be in the fresh air but I don’t like to stay out there too long by myself. I want to be everybody’s friend and be with them as much as possible.
The Good: Loving, happy, playful, learns quickly, social with people and other animals.
Learning: housetraining, sharing my food bowl, not stealing food from the garbage, leash walking
