Mia

Mia is adopted

Sponsored by The Allgeier family, in loving memory of their amazing lab, Clyde.

Meet Mia, a beautiful chocolate lab with only one fault….she is just too friendly!  We are mystified why anyone would abandon such a gorgeous dog in a shelter in the overnight kennel, leaving no information about her at all.  You can see the sadness in her eyes.  Her eyes should exude happiness because she is really a lovely, happy girl.  Hopefully the sadness will soon be replaced with love and happiness, because that’s what this beautiful girl deserves.
She is such a lovely girl.  Someone must have worked with her in the past because she knows sit, stay, down, etc. and is ready to obey.
We notice a bit of a scratch on her nose which leads us to believe that she may have had a run-in with a cat, so even though she does not have a mean bone in her body, she may just be a little too inquisitive to be around cats.
She loves to play and needs lots of exercise of course, so her perfect home would have someone who can give her lots of walks and provide lots of play time with her.  Mia is good with other dogs, but maybe just a little too friendly with small, and especially senior, dogs because she is always trying to institute play when they are just not interested.
As soon as you make eye contact with her, her tail starts thumping and she is eagerly awaiting your next command.  In fact, her tail only stops wagging when she is asleep.
She does think she’s a lap dog, and would love if you allowed her to try and get on your lap and then slide down and sit beside you on the couch.  So cute and super friendly.  She is very smart and easily trainable if you want to teach her new tricks or manners, for example, to stay off the couch.  She learns quickly.  She would do well with another dog her size or might be fine as an only dog as long as she has lots of time to interact with people.
Mia would love a fenced yard where she could run and it appears she would be OK with a bit older children just because she is so friendly but might knock a young toddler over due to her playfulness.  This girl is just super in so many ways, comical at times, but very well behaved and ready for her forever home.
She will make some lucky family a great new companion.  Could that be you?
Please contact her foster mom, Carol at carol@ezcorp.ca if you would like more information.
Please note that while we continue to get to know each of our dogs, their biographies will be updated with additional information, so make sure to check back once in a while!
