Mercedes has been adopted.
This adorable little lady is an absolute joy to have around the house. She is an owner surrender from Quebec, sadly given up due to a critical family illness. The family had her from puppyhood, and clearly she has been much-loved and well cared for throughout her life.
Mercedes is, therefore, a very healthy 8 year old lady, with excellent teeth, and a soft, shiny coat. She is house and leash trained. Her normal gait is a sweet “Papillion Prance” when she’s happy on a walk – which is always.
In her former home, after her owner became ill, Mercedes was being bothered by a young child, which caused her to nip that child in self-defense. Therefore, a home with children OVER 10 years old is necessary. There were no prior incidents with Mercedes; it was simply a question of no supervision with a disrespectful child.
Mercedes gets along well with other small dogs in her foster home, but has not been exposed to cats, so her reaction is unknown. She is vocal when someone knocks on the door, but settles down quickly once she’s greeted them on her dancing hind legs, giving gentle kisses, of course!
She loves to snuggle beside you on the sofa, and of course, welcomes all attention. She’s also very happy to quietly hang out in her bed, watching whatever activities are going on in the house. Mercedes has become attached to her foster mum, and follows her around the house, keeping busy and ‘helping’.
Mercedes is a lovely little dog, with no real issues, who would do well with another similarly-sized dog, or as an only dog. She’s a wonderful companion, easy to walk and look after, and just a joy to have around. Her ideal situation would be a loving home, with a fenced yard, where someone is around much of the time, as she so enjoys the company of her human(s). Mercedes has so much to give and will soon earn a cherished place in some lucky heart.
