Miss Katie from Kentucky!! This beautiful girl has arrived to Canada and is full of love. Katie is absolutely the seeking kindness and a gentle approach from her humans as it is obvious that has not been her past experience. She is very calm and can be skittish at times but is learning to build trust with her foster family very well. She is excellent with children and dogs as well as she has met many already in our neighborhood. She has met cats on our walks and just ignores and keeps walking. She loves go on walks and walks well on a leash. She can be scared of loud noises such as lawnmowers or heavy traffic passing by but with reassurance she does just fine. She does not tend to do her business on walks but prefers the back yard. She has not barked in her foster home and does not use a crate. She stays home during the day with her foster Shih Tzu friends and has had no troubles whatsoever. Katie loves to eat and does like the occasional treats as she is learning what they are when offered. She accepts treats very gently and looks for more when she is done!!
Katie will do very well with a family inclusive of children and pets. She is shy but completely coming out of her shell and loves everyone!! She is great at sleeping through the night, does not chew and does not require to be crated. She will need a fenced secure yard to keep her safe.
