Meet Julien, a young and happy and handsome boy looking for a forever home. Julien is an absolute heartbreaker who has endless love and snuggles to give. He wants nothing more than pets and a pile of blankets to bury himself under. Julien is about 2 years old or so. He has moderate energy and loves to soak up attention, but is also content to curl up and snooze on the couch. He loves running around the yard and learned how to use the dog door quickly. He’s a smart boy who is fully house trained, and hopes for a family who can help with his ongoing training needs.
Julien arrived unsure about walking on a leash, but with practice he’s getting the hang of it. When he’s excited he will paw for affection, so any children in the house should be dog savvy while you train him to ask more politely. He knows the command sit, and is practicing on being patient for treats, but he takes them very gently, never snappy. He’s a completely gentle soul, and falls in love with every human he meets. And everyone who meets him loves him just as much.
Julien is under socialized with other dogs, but with training we believe he can get over that and become more dog friendly. Around the yard and on the floor he’s very content to share space with the two other dogs in the home. When he’s relaxing or getting cuddles, he gets a bit tense when the other dogs try to get close. He takes verbal correction well and maintains his control, so with proper training this is something his forever family can work on. He would be very happy to be an only dog, and has enough love to give the entire family all on his own.
Julien loves mealtime and loves his sleep. His favourite place to sleep is the livingroom sofa, but don’t be surprised to find him up in your bed in the morning. He’s not an early riser, always sleeping until the family is awake. He seems to enjoy wearing shirts and sweaters, so getting him dressed for the winter weather will be a breeze. He’s been an all around fantastic houseguest, and he’s ready to continue his training with a family that’s looking for a good boy like him.
