Jemma is adopted!
Jemma/female/Lab mix/ 2 years old/ 42 pounds/Adoption Fee is $400.00
Jemma is a beautiful Lab/Chow cross with a Chow’s blue tongue, a cute bobbed tail and a lovely personality. Once she gets to know people she is extremely affectionate and eager to please. She can be timid with new people and startles easily. She has a big loud bark that she seems to use mainly when new people approach and she is unsure.
Jemma is learning about living in a house. She has mastered the stairs and is learning about house training. She sleeps quietly in her crate at night in her foster parents’ room. She seems to do well in a crate during the day for 5 or 6 hours but needs a lot of play time afterwards!
She doesn’t appear to have had obedience training and pulls on a leash but she is a fairly calm girl with good manners who wants to please her people. She needs a family who will take her to training and spend lots of time with her to help build her trust.
She is good with other dogs but is annoying the older dogs in her foster home with her frequent demands to play! She is still a puppy at heart! Another playful dog in the home would be a good fit for her or an active family who will include her in their activities. So far she is ignoring the cats in her foster home and gets along very well with the 2 teenage humans who live there! Because she is nervous of quick movements and still uses her mouth when she is playing, a home with very young children may not be a good fit.
For more information on her, please contact her foster mom Tanya at tmwelliott@gmail.com
Please note that while we continue to get to know each of our dogs, their biographies will be updated with additional information, so make sure to check back once in a while!
