Iris has been adopted!
Sponsored by Toba, in honour of Toby, Riley and Penny. Every furbaby deserves a loving home and happiness.
Please say hello to lovely Iris. She is a shy girl with a calm and sweet demeanor. Considering her early years have been spent in a puppy mill, Iris is adjusting to life in a home and enjoying the company of her foster family and snuggling on the couch. She lives with her foster dog and cat sisters and is doing well.
Iris is happy and affectionate once she knows she is safe and trusts you. As with puppy mill dogs, she has much to learn. She is shy meeting people and dogs but does warm up, given time. Iris needs someone that will be patient, gentle and understanding, as new things can be scary for her.
She is doing well with house training and crate training. Iris is crated overnight and sleeps quietly throughout the night. She walks well on a leash and has enjoyed walks with her foster sister. She has been fine in the car and is also learning some basic commands.
Iris would do well in home where she is not left alone for long periods of time. Another dog in the home will also help build her confidence. Iris loves exploring the yard and is learning how to play.
Iris is spayed and up to date on shots. She needs a dental, and once done will be ready to find a loving and patient home of her own.
