Guizmo

Guizmo has been adopted!

Sponsored by Toba, in honour of Toby and Penny. Every furbaby deserves a loving home and happiness

I have had the tremendous pleasure of fostering this wonderful dog named Guizmo. Guizmo is approximately 2.5 years old, playful, white Pekingese. He just loves life, and everyone and everything in it. He is a happy dog for the most part, never does his tail stop wagging. He has many favourite toys, constantly going to the toy basket to bring out another. He loves treats and now has learned to take them gently from our hand. He is a pretty picky eater, but loves salmon flavoured kibble. Of course he would gladly eat our people food, but does not beg at mealtime.

He gets so very excited when he knows he is going for a walk, merely putting our coats on and taking the leashes out sets him into excited little barks. Guizmo is vocal at all the right times, when someone comes to the door, when he hears a knock, and now just recently he is barking out of excitement when we first get home. For these reasons, a house would probably be better suited for little Guizmo. Guizmo walks well on a leash and does all his business outside.

Guizmo is learning to trust during meal time, or when he is chewing a bone, but for now we are respecting him during this time, he does growl and does protect his food. This is happening less and less, as he becomes to realize, no one is going to tease him or take his food away.

Although Guizmo is a VERY friendly dog, who can be found always curled up on the floor around his humans, he is not a cuddly dog. He is very nervous when he is picked up and stiffens until he is put down. Again, as he realizes this is not meant to hurt him, he is relaxing more all the time. Guizmo loves the security of his crate and prefers to sleep in there at bedtime. Many times during the day, he can be found snoozing inside his open crate. He sleeps very well through the night, and wakes up happy to greet a new day.

Guizmo has brought light and love into our family and he will do the same for yours.

Because of his food guarding and the respect that is needed when he is picked up, Guizmo’s ideal home would be with adult children, and of course someone who is home most of the time.

Guizmo was lovingly fostered by Brenda.
