Dogs

Fern

Fern has been adopted!

Sponsored by Toba, in honour of Toby, Riley and Penny. Every furbaby deserves a loving home and happiness.

Fern is a lovable dog who loves cuddles. Fern is happy to hang out and relax at our feet on the floor wherever we are and is also happy to cuddle on a coach or bed if allowed up. Fern responds to direction when not allowed on furniture.

Fern is fully leash trained. She loves to be outside and can be quite eager to get going as she does love to follow a scent on her walks! Fern’s comfort with passing vehicles on busy streets is growing each week. Fern is able to be off-leash in a secure backyard with no concerns; she is happy to lie near you while you garden or do yardwork.

Fern is fully house trained and has been left alone uncrated for a few hours with no issues.

Fern is food motivated but responds to direction when she tries to appeal to you for treats from your plate. If food is left at her level, she does attempt to sneak a bite or the whole thing if you’ve walked away. Fern is good with basic commands such as sit and off.

Fern travels well in the car and is generally quiet unless provoked. She does occasionally bark to alert a person approaching the house. Fern does shed quite a bit.

Fern is cautious around new people and animals and responds positively when approached slowly and calmly. She does let others know if she has been approached too quickly. Fern would do best in a home with older children.

Fern has moderate energy; she loves to run around, go for regular walks and play. She will take as many belly rubs and head scratches as people are willing to give her!
