Enzo

Enzo has been adopted!

Sponsored with love by Heather, Bree and Sharlene

This handsome little guy is Enzo.  He is a playful and happy guy that enjoys spending time with his people; so much so that if anyone is hugging, he wants to be included!  He is a character which brings endless laughter and joy to his people.  He entertains himself nicely with his toys, enjoys watching his people working around the house and enjoys snuggling with you under a cozy blanket while you watch a movie.

He has a good appetite and is VERY treat motivated.  He understands the command ‘sit’ to receive a treat, shake a paw, want to go for a walk, where is your toy, it is time for bed and car ride.  Speaking of ‘walk’ Enzo is excellent on the leash and LOVES his strolls throughout the neighbourhood.   He enjoys getting out and is a great walking buddy that meets and  greets other dogs nicely!  Car rides are another favourite thing of Enzo’s.  He is always eager to jump into the car and settle in for a road trip.  Enzo  is house trained and pee pad trained and has had no accidents while in foster care. He has great recall and will come running anytime you call his name (inside or outside).

He can be timid with humans at first but warms up quickly if you simply ignore him and let him come to you.  Enzo was previously in a home with children but was visible unhappy in such an environment. Given this history we will be looking for an adult only home for Enzo or one with older children (over 16). He has met quite a few young adults (16-21) and really seems to enjoy their company.  Enzo’s activity level is low; however, he is always ready for a walk, car ride or good game of toss with his toys.  Although he gets along with other dogs, he does not need one in his forever home as he is quite happy being the centre of attention.

During the day, Enzo is crated; however, this is not necessary as he is not destructive.  He enjoys a small kong filled with peanut butter, or a few nice treats while you are out of the house.  He is quiet and will settle in quickly when his family leaves.  He does know the sound of the doorbell and will bark when it rings or someone knocks on the door.  At night time he  prefers being under the covers of his human’s bed.  He will settle very quickly and doesn’t move all night.  He has been cat tested and he would do fine in a home with a dog friendly cat.  He does not require a fenced in yard; however, he does love being outside and a home with a small safe fenced in yard would be a bonus for Enzo.

Enzo is a lovebug and he has certainly flourished very quickly in our home.  When Enzo arrived, it was clear he had a troubling past; however, we were able to successfully build his confidence level which has strengthened the bond with all of his foster family.
