Meet Dewey
Dewey is a sweet and cuddly boy that is just looking for a warm lap to curl up on. Dewey is blind but is learning quickly how to live without sight. It took him a couple of days to figure out his foster home, but now he gets around great. Dewey just wants to be loved. Dewey was surrendered to a shelter by his former owners because they said they didn’t have time for him anymore. Honestly, Dewey doesn’t expect much. He loves to spend his time curled up on the couch, or cruising around his foster home looking for his foster mom. He’s a curious boy that doesn’t want to be left behind again.
He LOVES being held and cuddled. He is housetrained and knows to do his business as soon as his little feet touch the grass. However, Dewey will use a pee pad, if he’s left alone for a long time. When Dewey entered our care, he had severe dental disease. He had a dental done, and he’s only left with two teeth. His former owners stated Dewey is 7 years of age; however, the vet who treated him believes he may be closer to 10 years. This was based on the condition of his teeth. Dewey has a heart murmur; otherwise, he’s in good health. He doesn’t like being left alone for long periods of time, so he would do well with a person who is home often. Dewey is very quiet and is not a barker; therefore, he would do really well in an apartment or condo. At night, Dewey loves to sleep on the big bed with his humans. This little guy loves everyone he meets. He’s also great with dogs and cats.
