Dogs

Cheyenne

Cheyenne has been adopted.

Cheyenne is a gorgeous little (20 pound) beagle that is just over 1 year old.  She has very unique grey and black markings throughout her coat.  She is from a high kill shelter in Kentucky and was found as a stray with another dog.  Although she is a little shy, she is a happy girl that wags her tail constantly.  She is great with cats and a little timid when meeting other dogs.  Cheyenne has a good appetite, loves liver treats and currently enjoys chewing on a few different types of dog bones.

During the day when her foster family is away from the home, Cheyenne goes into her crate with a few tasty treats to keep her occupied (a Kong filled with peanut butter, liver treats and a few safe chew toys).  She may whimper for a few minutes but seems to settle quickly.

She loves to be outside and is good on a leash.  She follows her nose (as beagles do) and can get very excited with the different smells in her neighborhood; therefore, Cheyenne would benefit from a secure fenced in backyard that would allow her to explore and still be safe.  Her foster family has been walking her with a harness and working on recall during the walks (a simple whistle seems to get her attention and she will refocus on you).

She seems to be housetrained and will go to the door and whimper when she needs to go outside.  She will entice you over to the couch with her tail wagging and eyes focused on you (as if to say, please come snuggle with me).  She is a big cuddle bug who will plant her nose on your shoulder while she gets some loving from her foster family.

At night time, she sleeps in a large size dog bed in the master bedroom beside her foster family’s bed.  She is a great sleeper and sleeps through the entire night (in fact she sleeps through the morning alarm).

Cheyenne has been spayed, tested for heartworm (is negative), was dewormed, received advantage and is vaccinated.

Please note that while we continue to get to know each of our dogs, their biographies will be updated with additional information, so make sure to check back once in a while!
