Charolette

Charolette has been adopted!

Sponsored in honour of my Daisy who is about 12 and had a mass removed from her eye and is on the mend and waiting for the results of her biopsy. Please keep Daisy in your prayers.

Charlotte is a sweet dog that came to her foster home quite timid. In the week she’s been here, she has made some great progress. She has learned to play with toys and to trust her foster parents. Charlotte enjoys being with her people and gets along well with the other dogs in her foster home. Charlotte is great in the car, she will curl up and go to sleep. Charlotte is not quite house trained, but is quickly catching on. Charlotte is free fed with her other foster dogs and there are no issues. Charlotte is learning how to walk on a leash and is also catching onto this very quickly. Charlotte still shows some fear when meeting strangers, but once she realizes they are not going to hurt her, she warms up very quickly.

Charolette recently had a visit with our vet and she is a healthy girl. As is very common, in small dogs, Charolette does have luxating patellas in both of her hind legs. The vet graded them as 2-3 and her mobility is not affected. This grade of luxation is not requiring surgical intervention. To optimize Charolette not having issues, in the future, she needs to be kept at a healthy weight. Supplements such as glucosamine chondroitin and/or omegas can also by helpful.

Charlotte has not been around young children, but her foster parents do not see any issues, as long as the children are respectful. Charlotte needs to go to a home that can give her the confidence she needs to be a happy member of their family.
