Charlie

Charlie has been adopted!

Sponsored by Tara, in loving memory of her boy Tucker

Meet Charlie! He is a loving, happy, and gentle boy, who is settling in really well in his new foster home. Save Me found Charlie at a shelter after he was never claimed by his former family. Nevertheless, it is obvious by Charlie’s personality he has been loved by humans in the past. He didn’t hesitate to trust his foster mom on the first day he arrived in her home. Charlie loves to snuggle but is also very independent. He likes to lay close to his foster mom, but doesn’t need to be on her lap. Charlie loves to go for his walks. He walks very well on a leash, and is friendly with the strangers and dogs he meets. We believe Charlie was an active member of the “Squirrel Watch Patrol” in the past. He takes his squirrel watching duties very seriously, and would chase the neighbourhood squirrels, if he was given the chance. Charlie is a very easy going boy, and seems to get along with all the dogs he meets. He is currently living with another dog, his foster sister, whose nickname is “Grumpy Cat”. His foster sister is very particular about male dogs in her environment. Nevertheless, Charlie is respectful of her space, and is happy to let her lead the pack. Charlie was “cat tested” at the shelter, and he was fine with cats.

Charlie appears to be house trained. He hasn’t had any accidents in the house so far. Due to Charlie’s foster mom’s work schedule, he is only alone for a couple of hours per day. He doesn’t seem to be destructive in any way, but we will crate him to keep him separate from his foster sister in case she’s not in a good mood that day. He lays down and seems to be fine being crated. Charlie sleeps soundly on his human’s bed all night, and will wake up when her alarm goes off in the morning. He’s been for a few car rides and he does really well. Charlie will bark when someone comes to the door or the occasional person passing by the house.

Charlie is looking for a family that will give him the unconditional love that he deserves. His wish list includes a family with children over the age of 10, a few walks outside per day, and a house instead of an apartment.
