Arthur

Arthur is receiving extra TLC – Not accepting applications

Sponsored in celebration of a beautiful life well lived, and all the joy, love, and comfort that Mimi, Melissa’s little ball of yarn, brought to each of us in her lifetime. May Mimi’s angel wings now become an opportunity for Arthur to know a life of great love and security. Let love be her legacy. Love, Auntie Alessia, Nana, and Papa

Light as a feather! Arthur is nothing but a little fluff of fur and just the sweetest little guy.

Arthur was found stray in Tennessee, hobbling along on a broken front leg. It’s very evident that he WAS someone’s pet at one time. He knows all about family life, picks the softest of dog beds, and knows exactly what is served in the kitchen. He’s house trained and crate trained. How he ended up alone, is anyone’s guess.

The break on his paw is old, he has some fur loss and scarring (possibly from fleas) and he was in need of a dental, but he’s otherwise a healthy guy. Our vet has looked over Arthur’s x-rays and he’s been physically examined. Due to the extent of the injuries to the soft tissues of his leg, Arthur will undergo an amputation of that leg. This will avoid future issues such as arthritis and will also help the strain on the rest of his body as he tries to walk on it which causes a lot of unnatural gait.

Arthur is a happy guy, more so now that his dental has been done and his mouth is feeling so much better. He’s bright and happy little man. While he doesn’t need to be right on his people, he likes to be close by. He’s a social guy.

Arthur will remain in our care until his surgery at the beginning of October. We would like to get a little more weight on him and allow his mouth to heal before he faces his next medical procedure.
