Janey is adopted!
Janey / Female / Chihuahua – Terrier Cross / 10 lbs / 6 yrs old / Adoption fee: $400.00
I’d like you to meet Janey. Adorable, funny, sweet Janey. A little love-bug with a sad story.
When Janey was pulled from her ‘home’ her body was covered with fleas and ticks, thus she didn’t get much affection. She was attention-starved, and this is a girl who loves her belly rubs. She’s making up for it now! She will lay on your lap, flip over and force you to give her belly rubs. It’s the funniest thing. She will paw at your arm until she gets your hand on her belly, then actually holds your hand there; she wriggles around and moves your hand to where she would like her scratches. I laugh every time!
Her immune system was so compromised when she arrived that it took months for her to heal from a bad cold. Her trachea has a partial collapse that was bothered by the coughing, so she really suffered. The poor girl even had a tapeworm that we got rid of.
She’s healthy now, and a very happy little girl. She’s my little shadow. She waits at the door when I’m showering, follows me wherever I go. She’s crate trained and housebroken. She looks like she might be a Chihuahua-Corgie mix and her tail is crooked. She has the prettiest eyes that sparkle with adoration.
Janey has lower back issues that make her back legs weak. She waddles and hops around with a huge smile on her face, although she could do with a lift when it comes to heights and a lot of stairs. She’s seen a specialist, who explained that while she has 3 compressed discs and one ruptured disc in her back, she’s getting along just fine. Surgery wouldn’t really help her, as over time she can have further disintegration regardless. She’s not in any pain, she’s just a bit slower and snugglier. Her evergy level is on the lower side for a 6-year-old, although she certainly enjoys her short strolls. She’s mostly quiet, except for some random barks.
She gets along with other dogs overall, but is more of a human lover. She’s demonstrated some food competition with my female Yorkie, so I feed them separately. Before she eats, she comes up to you for a nuzzle like she’s saying ‘Thank You’.
I would prefer to find her a home where she is going to receive all the love, no more competition for this little girl. We are looking for someone special, who enjoys all Janey’s quirks and has plenty of love and affection to share. A home with no small children would be best. Please note that while we continue to get to know each of our dogs, their biographies will be updated with additional information, so make sure to check back once in a while!
