Stanley is receiving extra TLC – Not accepting applications
Sponsored on behalf of our beautiful rescue dogs Dolly, Mickey, Molly and Mocka we are thrilled to sponsor Stanley.
Stanley was seized from a backyard breeding situation. From what we understand, Stanley was born there and this is the only life he has known up to this point.
Currently Stanley is learning about life in a family home. He seems eager to learn, but is so very scared of many things. Hands being one of them. So far, his experience at being handled by humans has not be very positive and that has led Stanley to be very mistrusting of human hands coming towards him. Has has been adapting well to everything else. Learning to eat from a dish, learning what the comfort of a doggy bed is, regular nutritious meals, warm safe home to live in. He’s very interested in his foster parents, even if there is some distrust. He’s open to watching and sitting with them, but prefers not to be touched at this time. As you can well imagine, it proves difficult to house train or leash train a dog that cannot be handled, so Stanley will remain in our care until that trust can be earned.
Stanley is also having some medical work done. His teeth and nails have never been looked after, and he was never neutered. As well, he appears to have some level of deformity in his back legs. Stanley will be seeing our vet to have these issues addressed as well.
He’s a sweet quiet little guy who is curious about his new life and seems to open to the new changes going on in it. He likes the other dogs in the home, and is learning to relax around his human foster family.
If you would like to follow Stanley’s progress, his foster mom posts about him almost daily to her Instagram account @fosterdogstories and you are welcome to follow his journey there.
