Mitaine has an application in progress
Sponsored by Quinn and Bowie, Save Me alumni, in hopes that all pups get the loving families that they deserve.
Bonjour human! ♥️
My name is Mitaine; that means mitten in French and ohh yes, like a mitten, I love to be kept all warm. So let’s keep each other warm.
I’m about 11 years old but I still love to go for short walks. I love being outside in the backyard, hopping ‘round and then climbing right back into your arms after my lil’ stroll smelling the wildflowers.
I eat slower because I’m older, but don’t be alarmed, I will eventually finish up all my grub.
There’s a good spot just right below my ear where I love to be scratched. You can watch my tail wag and my lil’ snoot go waaaay up in the air asking for more.
So what do you say? Let’s go have little moments together.
Mitaine had her first veterinary visit the day after she arrived and diagnostics confirmed a large ulcerated growth on her hind end was malignant. Mitaine had surgery to remove as much as the mass as possible and the amazing Dr. Hinsperger was able to remove all visible tumour. As expected, he was not able to get good margins but we do consider the surgery a great success. The histopatholgy report showed a low-grade sarcoma and her overall prognosis is favourable as grade 1 sarcoma has a very low propensity of spreading. While it is possible for there to be local recurrence, this should not have any effect on Mitaine’s longevity.
Mitaine also has a low grade heart murmur. She had no issues with anaesthetic and sailed through her surgery. During her surgery for the sarcoma we also had a few other small lumps tested and those were, thankfully, lipomas. Mitaine also had a dental.
