Lucy

Lucy has been adopted!

Sponsored in loving memory Bear and Buster, two very handsome dudes who graced our lives with love, joy and fun

This is Lucy! She came into care with her sister Lola from way up North in Attawapiskat. Both her and her sister are on the smaller side – we know that her mom is some sort of shepherd mix, but dad is unknown. They are definitely a Northern Mix!

She is super cute, loves to play, and has the cutest little white tip on her tail! Lucy loves to play with her foster parents and her sister. She can be a little rambunctious at times, and really enjoys chasing bouncy balls and rope toys, but also loves a good nap in the sun from the window!

Both pups are becoming more active, playful, and adventurous! Especially when they are outside – they are feeling more comfortable wandering the backyard and are intrigued by the various sounds.

Lucy sure loves her food! She gobbles it down fast, so some sort of slow feeder bowl will help slow her down. She will also need practice taking treats in a gentle way – sometimes it’s hard when they are so delicious!

Lucy will need a fully fenced yard, or someone committed to taking her places where she can let some of her energy out. I think she would love an active family to keep her busy and teach her the ropes!

Potty training is a work in progress, but it’s going pretty good considering she is so young! She knows that when she goes outside that she needs to go to the bathroom. We have been keeping both pups on a schedule, and this has helped tremendously to prevent accidents inside. They still happen though, so patience and consistency will be key.

She has so much fun playing with her sister all day, so having another pup in the home would be great! But if not, finding some dog friends to play with would be great. I can see her being a social girl!

Currently both pups sleep in their x-pen and crate overnight. They have both been good overnight – when the lights go out, they know it’s time to settle in for the evening.

Lucy’s birthday was February 10th, so she will be 8 weeks old on April 6th and will be getting her first set of vaccines on April 10th. She will be free to go to her forever home the weekend of April 20th!
