Rolo has been adopted!
Sponsored on behalf of Bella and late Aria – both Save Me Rescues.
My name is Rolo and I am as sweet as the caramel-chocolate candy I was named after. I lived most of my life in Tennessee and recently came to Toronto. Prior to leaving the States, I was neutered and had a little umbilical hernia repaired so when I arrived, I was still recovering from that procedure – I was wearing the cone of shame when I met my foster family but they didn’t laugh at me and pretended it wasn’t an obvious eye-sore. I finally ditched that plastic cone and am ready to be adopted.
I would describe myself as scared but curious – loud noises, especially on a walk outside, startle me and I look to my foster mom for reassurance. If she isn’t bothered by it, I try to be brave and keep going.
I get so excited when I see my leash because I know it means I get to go for a walk. I learned quickly that walking outside is fun.
When I was living in the US, I rarely, if ever, went out so I didn’t know that well-trained dogs don’t do their business wherever they want. I’ve gotten the hang of going into the backyard to do my thing, especially when my canine siblings go too. I will not do my business while on a walk and won’t slow you down by sniffing. I will need a fenced in backyard.
I think I’d do well with a calm older dog to teach me how to really be a pet. I don’t play with the dogs I live with partly because they are old and partly because I simply don’t want to. I live with a cat and we ignore each other nicely. Foster mom has offered me a bunch of different toys but I don’t know what to do with them. I like to spend my time snoozing on the sofa – if there’s a bit of sunlight that can shine on me, that’s even better!
