Winston has been adopted!
Sponsored by Anna Matthews in honor of all homeless dogs.
Winston joined us a few weeks ago all the way from Tennesse. Although we don’t know his history, he is sweet and gentle but very shy. When he arrived he was so scared and tried to hide or look for a way to escape. Once comfortable, he started to explore and enjoy ear rubs. Winston is so sweet and needs a family that understands it will take time to earn his trust.
Winston is working on housetraining and will go to the back door to be let out. He is clean in his crate, but does bark when left alone. A family where someone is home during the day or another calm confident dog would help. We continue to work through his separation anxiety.
Winston loves being outdoors and will find a nice cool place to relax. He responds to his name, is learning basic commands, and is food motivated. He is curious and slowly gaining confidence.
Winston is getting used to walking on a leash. He is shy when meeting people and dogs and will require slow intros. He is startled by loud noises and sudden movements, and we continue to help build his confidence. He ignores the resident cat. He is neutered and vaccinated.
Winston is a sweetheart and a family willing to give him time to adjust will enjoy seeing him grow into a happy and playful boy.
