Roxie has been adopted!
Sponsored for the great rescue I have, Aria and the great work done by the volunteers.
From way up north this little girl has found her foster home in Peterborough to be quite enjoyable. She is used to all the snow so felt right at home here. Roxie currently lives with two dogs, two cats and an 11 year old child. She came in very nervous and easily excited but over the course of a week has really shown she can relax and slow down.
Roxie shows she is eager to learn but is still learning quite a few things, she is just a young pup and not used to this whole house living but you can tell she will continue to catch on quickly and likes the comfort of a home. Being a puppy she is still learning not to jump up or nip don’t worry though with continued corrections and training she will catch on! She is learning to use bells to go outside, so she is not fully house trained. She is a master at sit and can do down. Currently working on paw, stay, and come . She is food and phrase motivated which is a plus!!
Roxie is learning that her crate isn’t so bad, she goes in with prompting and whines a bit at the beginning but will sleep all night (what more could you ask for?!). She stays in it during the day when her humans are at work. It isn’t her favourite thing and lets them know as soon as they get home she wants to come out and play! However she has never left a mess in her crate!
Roxie loves her walks especially when she is in an open field and can bounce through the snow and play with her fur foster siblings but trying to catch on to this whole walking on a leash thing.
Roxie LOVES to chew on her bones and her all time favourite is a hoof!! Fetch and Tug, does anyone want to play?! Roxie loves to play with a long squeaky toy, she will run around showing off her prize! She loves her fur friends all the same and happily plays with anyone that wants to play. She isn’t a very independent puppy yet and always likes to have her pack close by.
By no means is this puppy a couch potato, she loves her walks, play and training. If all her needs are met she would be happy to lay down and chew her bone or just chill at your feet.
Her ideal home would be one that wants to keep up with training, a puppy class would be great! She is looking for someone to walk her on one long walk or a couple short walks each day. She does love her fur friends but could handle being on her own. Would recommend older kids since still has that puppy energy and nipping.
