Lovey is adopted!
Sponsored by Debby K., in memory of her beautiful girl Lucy
Lovey’s name describes her perfectly.
A wonderful 8yr 65lb Lab girl, she is a perfect companion for a family looking for a mature dog.
Totally housetrained and crate trained. Her foster parents have had no difficulty leaving her out while away from home. She walks well on a leash and likes to sniff her way along a leisurely walk.
Found as a stray, her foster home is working hard to help her skin recover from poor nutrition and lack of previous care. She has been with a wonderful temp foster Mom in Ohio while undergoing heart worm treatment and is now negative. Her hair continues to grow and with addition of omega vitamins, the vet estimates about 3 months. Her black fur is shiny as her continued health improves.
Lovey sweetly meets other dogs and does well with all, however her curiosity with much smaller dogs would make her a better candidate for a home with a dog closer to her size. She would never hurt them,
but does pester her two smaller foster sisters. The resident cat, as usual is MIA with a new dog in the house. Lovey is aware of her and has never gone to investigate further.
She responds well to both men and women and otherwise than her cute snoring as she naps, has shown no other behaviours that have sent up a flag in her foster home.
Although she has slight arthritis in her back hips, she runs, jumps, climbs stairs and gets into a truck on her own. She is a good car traveller and prefers to ride shot gun if given a choice. She has a firm and sweet attachment to a stuffy hedgehog and can often be found sleeping with it nearby.
Lovey’s beginning wasn’t kind , but it hasn’t changed her wonderful demeanour . Her search for her forever home begins.. are you it?
