Po is an incredibly handsome, 1 year old terrier cross. Although he is small in size, weighing only 15 pounds we are quite confident that along with terrier there is some herding breed in his makeup, as he displays many traits common to this group of dogs.
Po is a loyal, sweet boy who truly wants to please his people making him a joy to train. He is fully house and crate trained. Po gets overwhelmed easily and for this reason we are looking for a home with no children in it, he finds the commotion of children to be over stimulating and will alarm bark in their presence to let you know he is feeling uncomfortable. In an adult only home is he completely at ease and wonderfully well behaved.
Po would thrive in a home with another canine companion and gains confidence when in the company of other dogs. He loves to play but is not overwhelming in his energy, he is past that puppy stage. Unfortunately Po barks at cats and would not do well in a home with one.
Po walks nicely on leash and loves greeting all the other dogs he meets. He can be reactive towards people running or biking (again common with herding breeds) and will need continuous work in this area. He is very receptive to correction and is already improving greatly. We will be looking for a home who will continue to socialize Po and use positive reinforcement based obedience training.
Po is an absolute joy to have around and benefits from a quiet home. He wants to be with his owner all the time and will sit faithfully at your side all evening. Po is wonderful companion who subtly communicates when he is uncomfortable. His owner needs to be respectful and responsive to that.
