Michael is adopted!
Michael / Male / Beagle / 17 Lbs /7 Years Old / Adoption fee: $400.00
Michael is a handsome little (17 pound) beagle that is approximately 7 years old. He has those unique beagle ears that you just want to pet and some striking markings throughout his coat. We do not know any background information on Michael (why he ended up in the shelter in Ohio). However, it is clear to his current foster home in the US that he has not had a lot of good human contact. He wants to be with his people, he follows them around the house, but he is shy and nervous.
He is great with other dogs and he will go out of his way to meet any dog. He gets along with cats. Michael would prefer that his forever home had a friendly dog that is eager for a friend. This would be beneficial as it will show him how the interaction with people is positive and it will help Michael adjust a little quicker in his forever home.
During Michael’s workup to come to Canada he was diagnosed as heartworm positive. He is receiving heartworm treatments in Ohio before he is transferred to Canada. Michael is scheduled to arrive to Save Me Rescue on October 22nd.
He is house trained, he likes his crate and sleeps there at night time. Michael is left out during the day with the other dogs when no one is home. He is not a barker, he is good on a leash and likes the outdoors; he is pretty low energy currently. He does not play with toys (probably does not know what they are) and is not a chewer either. He is fine in the car and enjoys adventures; however he is not a fan of being picked up. He does really well with the same routine all of the time.
