Meet Frederick!
Yes, this adorable beagle is as sweet as he looks! A neutered 6 year old, this cutie pie is ready-Freddy to find his forever home – could that be you?
Frederick is what we call a ‘people dog’ – he looooooves humans. Anyone and everyone crossing his path is met with an enthusiastic tail wag and a polite request for pets. It’s also no surprise that Freddy is a Class A Cuddler; personal space does not exist! Your couch cushion and bed are his couch cushion and bed, too.
Because he so values quality time with his human on the couch, Frederick can be a bit possessive over his space if encroached on by another dog. Overall, Frederick tends to be relatively indifferent to other dogs, but due to his unpredictability in tight settings, he would do best as the only dog in the home. He has not demonstrated any issues with cats.
Freddy is fully house trained and travels well in his car crate. He is a true beagle and will follow his nose anywhere, so unless he is in a securely and fully fenced backyard, etc., he should always be leashed. He very much enjoys his strolls and can be described as a medium-energy dog.
With appropriate exercise, Frederick is an amazing house guest, resting quietly on the couch or his bed. He is not a chewer of shoes, etc., but is true to his breed and must not be left in the vicinity of any unattended food.
Freddy does well in the crate if left alone (i.e. if crated because he will be unsupervised), but will vocalize if he can hear activity from others. He is accustomed to sleeping in bed with humans, so his forever home must be okay with dogs on the furniture. Unless a loud noise triggers him, Frederick is quiet in the house and is not a big barker. He does, however, have an audible snore!
One look at the eyes, ears, and innocent facial expression of this charming boy, and you’ll fall in love as quickly as we did!
