Sponsored by Andrea Martin – In memory of Mini (aka Turkey) & Meka (aka Buzzard), who are dearly missed and whose paw prints are forever in my heart.
Hello, my name is Trixie and I am looking forward to meeting you and getting my own family. I am a mini poodle and about 10 pounds. I am estimated to be about 6 years old. I have a fair amount of energy but I can also settle. I am spayed and had a dental when I lost several teeth. My mouth feels so much better. I am up-to-date on vaccinations and microchipped.
I know my name. I want to snuggle with my human so much that I jump up even when I shouldn’t. Foster mom is teaching me “off” so I know when I should wait to be invited up. However, I have figured out the short cut to her lap – onto the couch and over to her lap in the big chair. I will sleep there all evening and foster mom tells me I have several dreams. While I haven’t met any children, foster mom thinks I would be fine with respectful children. Foster mom thinks I am silly. One of her cats shreds cardboard boxes and I picked up one to play with.
Foster mom says I am house trained but she doesn’t know my signal to go outside so she takes me out regularly. I hope you can teach me something so you know when I want to go out. I am okay in the car and on a leash and going for a walk.
Foster mom has two small dogs and several cats. I am comfortable with the dogs and have attempted to play a bit but foster mom says her dogs don’t play a lot so it isn’t surprising that we don’t play much. Foster mom also has another foster, Timmy, and we enjoy each other’s company so if you want 2 dogs, we would love to stay together. When the other dogs bark at people going by, I join in. One of foster mom’s cats head butted me. I didn’t know what she wanted and just ignored her. I haven’t met any large dogs so foster mom thinks I would be okay but she isn’t sure.
While foster mom is out, I am loose with the other dogs. Foster mom tried leaving me by myself and I cried so much that her neighbors thought something was wrong. Therefore, apartment living isn’t for me. At night, I will sleep on the floor beside your bed but I would rather be on the big bed with you. Foster mom gave me a cozy bed that I love and she says I can take it with me when I move to my new home. I like to play outside so if you have a fenced yard, that would be great.
The ideal home for me must have another dog and can even have a cat. If you have a fenced yard that would be a bonus. If you want a lap dog, I am your girl. If you want a second dog, I would love Timmy to come along (he will be posted soon). If you have respectful children, I would be okay with that.
I hope to meet you soon.
