Sweetie

Bichon – Female – 10 lbs – 6 yrs (approx)

Sponsored by Mary Lou Kightley – May this lovely dog find the safe and loving home they so deserve.

Sweetie is as her name suggests.. sweet.

Sweetie can be a bit of a lone soul, often heading off to nap in her bed away from all of the action. Other times she feels social and seeks out a playmate. At night she snuggles into a dog bed with one of the other dogs in the home . We think she would be happy as a solo dog, or with another likeminded pup.

She often enjoys a good snuggle with her foster mom and is a great little companion dog. Though she has not been kid tested, her gentle demeanor suggests that she would most likely be fine with respectful children.

Sweetie was recently spayed, a dental was done (with several extractions), vaccines were updated and she was microchipped.  Sweetie does have some slight hair loss on her back, with no clear reason for it that we can find.

House training is coming along really well and though she doesn’t seem to know how to alert her people, regular trips outside keep her on schedule. She does fine when left home alone for brief periods of time. She is calm, not destructive and seems to like having the house to herself. Sweetie isn’t a huge fan of the car, but this is likely just lack of experience more than anything. She’s slowly figuring out the leash walking but seems happier to just run and explore the yard. While she is not overly vocal, she does sometimes like to share her opinion, so we would not suggest her for apartment living.

While foster mom does refer to her as a bit of a lone soul at times, she’s a night time cuddler and would love to claim a spot on your bed. We promise she won’t snore, but she may try and steal all the blankets.
