Simpka

Poodle – Female – 37 lbs – 4 yrs (approx.)

Sponsored in memory of our forever foster Moe! In our hearts always. Welcome to Save Me Simpka, better times ahead.

You’ve gotta love poodles! They are bouncy, playful, rambunctious, curious and smart. Simpka is all of these things and more. Despite recently coming from a Tennessee puppy mill and living in a cage all her life, she is extremely friendly and affectionate. She is thought to be about 4.

Everything is new to Simpka and she is benefiting from a regular routine and positive reinforcement with her fosters. She is very inexperienced at life. Clever and treat driven, she will be easy to train. She has displayed her ability to learn quickly by walking well on busy streets, as long as there is an occasional opportunity to sniff. She loves all dogs and people.

Toys are exciting to her, but those with stuffing are in extreme danger! Simpka can remove a squeaker before you can cross a room. Her mischievous and cheeky personality means everything belongs to her. She loves to be touched and praised. Cuddling on the couch or laying on feet are her favourite evening pastimes.

She has been a great sleeper from day one and settles for the night in her covered crate but does insist on being in the same bedroom as her people. She currently has free reign of her foster home and does not want to be crated during the day. So far, she does not do well left alone during the day.

Simpka needs plenty of exercise. Lots of activity and space to run would be her ideal setting.
Mental stimulation is always a good idea to prevent boredom. She will need daily brushing and regular grooming. Her size and strength should be considered since she could easily knock over a small child or elder.

She is housetrained She does not usually alert to sounds but hates seagulls! She has a good appetite and is comfortable riding in the backseat of a vehicle. Simpka is spayed, microchipped and has all vaccines are up to date.

Miss Simpka will thrive with a family who is willing to invest love and patience in her future well-being. They should commit to her training and possible professional assistance going forward. This happy girl will make a fabulous companion and family member.
