Sponsored by Theresa Naus -to celebrate the most incredible (almost) 5 years with my soul dog Bubba who passed in January 2026. There will never be another like him. Thank you for all the love you give at Save Me Rescue
Roy is a sweet, kind and playful Beagle mix who found himself in an unfortunate situation. Roy came into rescue with a broken pelvis due to being hit by a car, he is awaiting FHO surgery on April 9th. Roy has gained the nickname “Franklin” in his foster home as he has to move turtle slow as he recovers.
Roy is a very sweet boy who loves to snuggle on the couch with his people and dog friends. Roy is fostered in a home with other dogs, and he’s a very friendly and playful boy (he’s super smart and has learned adaptive play with his limited mobility). Roy loves to play with toys, and he’s been proven to be a bit of a super chewer. Roy is doing very well with house training and will alert when he needs to go out for a bathroom break, I would consider him pretty much fully house trained- but as with any new dog expect accidents as they adjust to their new home.
Roy is fostered in a home with cats, and while he does bark at the cats and has the desire to chase them (as much as he can right now with limited mobility) – he does not have a prey drive towards them and when he gets to them, he just wants to sniff and play. I would consider Roy to be good in a home with a dog savvy cat.
Despite Roy’s current condition, he is quite mobile and able to walk around on 3 legs right now. He will be going through proper rehab from his FHO surgery prior to adoption.
Roy would love a home with someone looking for a snuggle buddy companion, or with another playful dog. He loves to be outside and does great on a leash. I do anticipate him enjoying this even more when he’s fully recovered. Roy is a chill boy who has also not shown any signs of separation anxiety, and he’s quite the confident guy. Roy is also great in the car and would make a lovely travel companion for someone. Roy has truly taken everything new thrown at him with a “no problem, I got this!” type of attitude!
