Meet Purdue, also lovingly known as Perri
Purdue is a gentle, sweet girl with a shy nature and a heart full of love. She does not take long to warm up but needs someone with patience as she may take a while to trust.
Purdue is mostly house broken and is making great progress with notifying her foster parents when she needs to go outside. She is excellent with cats, children and other dogs. Generally sticking to herself for a while but eventually showing her more playful side with other dog friends.
Purdue has “Addison’s Disease”. Her adrenal glands do not produce enough of the hormones cortisol and aldosterone. Purdue gets a daily dose of prednisone and a monthly injection of DOCP. The injections are done at a veterinary clinic. This hormone replacement therapy keeps her Addison’s well controlled and will be required for life. When properly controlled and managed, dogs with Addison’s can have a normal life expectancy and quality of life. Purdue will need a family dedicated to maintaining her medication needs and who will be attuned to any changes in her health.
With patience consistency and love, Purdue will thrive in a calm home that lets her learn to trust and gains confidence along with her new family.
If you are looking for a quiet, loving companion who blossoms with trust, Purdue might be your perfect match!
