Princess

Dachshund Mix – Female – 15 lbs – 5 yrs (approx.)

Sponsored in loving memory of Hildi McSchmidt

Hello, my name is Princess and I am looking forward to meeting you and getting my own family. I am a dachshund mix perhaps with pug and about 15pounds. I am about 5 years old but foster mom says I act like a younger dog. I have lots of energy but I can also settle. I am spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations and microchipped.

I have a sweet, playful nature and I want to snuggle with my human. Foster mom says I dream a lot. I also like to curl up on a soft chair. While I haven’t met any children, foster mom thinks I would be fine with respectful children. I like to chew on a bone and play with toys. If you have a ball, that is even better. I stole my foster brother’s ball and he let me have it. I take it to foster mom so she will throw it for me. If you ask me where the ball it, I will find it. Foster mom says I am her ball dog.

Foster mom says I am house trained. However, she hasn’t figured out my signal to go outside so she takes me outside regularly. I haven’t had any accidents in the house, yeah! I like a car ride and I am good on a leash.

Foster mom has two small dogs and several cats. I wanted to play with the dogs and they weren’t too sure about it. They told me no and it took a while for me to understand what they were trying to tell me. Now we play a little bit but I would rather play a lot more so if you have playful dog, I would like to meet you. When they bark at people going by, I have to see what they are talking about and join in the barking. One of foster mom’s cats head butted me. I didn’t know what she wanted and just ignored her. I haven’t met any large dogs so foster mom isn’t sure how I would do with them.

While foster mom is out, I stay in a separate room. Foster mom isn’t sure I would be okay with everyone so to be safe she doesn’t leave me loose in the house with her dogs. I bark when foster mom comes home and I will bark to get back in the house so apartment living likely isn’t the best place for me. At night, I sleep in a separate room but I would rather be on the big bed with you. Sometimes. I like to play outside so if you have a fenced yard, that would be great.

The ideal home for me would have another confident dog and you could even have a cat. If you have a fenced yard that would be a bonus. If you want a lap dog, I will be sure to comply. If you have respectful children, I would be okay with that.

I hope to meet you soon.
