Olive — 9 Years Old, Sweet, Smart & Ready for Her Forever Home

Olive is a gentle little puggle with a big heart and a curious personality. At 9 years old, she’s the perfect mix of couch potato comfort and light adventure buddy — happy to nap the day away, but equally happy to trot along on a walk, play with toys or try a puzzle.
She’ll thrive in a home that offers routine, gentle boundaries, and someone who enjoys continuing her training in a fun, positive way. She’s bright, engaged, and wonderfully easy to redirect — a dog who listens, learns quickly, and genuinely enjoys guidance.
Olive gives her whole heart once she trusts you — and she’s so ready to meet her forever family.

Things that Olive loves:

-Routine. Olive brings sass and puggle energy to all of her interactions, so it can be easy to miss that new things can be scary for her. Routines built through training and repetition keep her calm and focused and that’s when she has the most fun. Continuing with her training to build confidence and help her feel comfortable is a must.

-Independence. She like to explore and spend time on her own. Her foster Mom often finds her sitting in the yard observing or snoozing on the couch by herself. She likes her space and because of this it’s recommend that she is in a home with adults or older dog savvy kids.

-Engagement. Olive loves interacting with people – whether they are familiar faces or new friends. She likes being the center of attention, bringing out her toys and showing off the skills she learned through training. Her energy level is low to medium so she’s always respectful in her interactions.

Things Olive is working on:

Confidence when outside the home. Olive walks extremely well on a leash. In quiet environments she trots along and explores beside her human. If she gets startled or distracted she is easily redirected. If not redirected she will struggle to maintain her focus and gets frustrated.

Sharing her space when inside the home. Olive is protective of her people and environment. She has shown some reactivity around food, toys and small animals. She is easily redirected and has already made significant improvements in a short time. In addition to keeping up with her training she would do best in a home with dogs her size or larger. She would also gladly be an only dog.

Health. Olive previously had a bladder stone removed and now eats a veterinary urinary diet. She does not require any medication. Her adoptive family would be required to maintain a healthy routine based on the recommendation of their vet to minimize future issues.
