Welcome Montana!
Montana is a very cuddly, sleepy girl. She absolutely LOVES being close to her person and will follow you around eagerly.
Her favorite place to be is snuggled up under a throw blanket on the couch with you.
So far, with lots of care and consideration – her house training has improved considerably. Although she does still have a few accidents in the house (maybe one or two in the last 5 days) we have worked very hard at ensuring she gets as many potty breaks as possible to keep her in a good routine. We have a run here, however she’s done very well staying close to the door with no concern to run or escape.
We have been working on a few, but it seems basic commands have not been learned yet.
Montana is extremely well behaved in her crate. She is only left in there when left unattended at home, but relaxes well and stays very calm and quiet. She’s been left in her crate for approx. 2-3 hours at a time, and we have had zero issues.
For bedtime, she is very happy to cuddle up to you in bed if allowed, otherwise we are sure she would feel safe and secure in her crate.
So far due the extreme cold temperatures we have not had many opportunities for long walks, however so far she has done well around the block with little issue on leash.
Montana has met 2 larger dogs while in my care, and she was truthfully not a fan of either. Prior to arriving at Save Me, reports did indicate she did well with other dogs, cats and kids once relaxed. She has not exhibited any aggressive behavior, barking or anger towards humas. She is cautious but friendly with any people she has met.
Generally – Montana is still decompressing however improving every day. She’s still quite timid around loud noises or a lot of distractions, however in a calm quiet home she has done and will continue to do very well. She will make the perfect companion for the right individual or family.
