Save Me Remembers

Wee little Moe had more love and care poured into him, during his time with Save Me, than many dogs receive throughout their lives. Earlier this week, he left us, surrounded by the abundance of love that he had enjoyed, since his arrival early May, last year.

We knew that Moe had medical issues when our amazing fosters, Lisa and Steve, offered to foster him. His problems ended up being much more complex than first thought and when further surgery was not an option (due to his lung issues) he became a much loved palliative foster. He went on many adventures, in his little bag, and charmed everyone he met.

Just over a month ago, Moe went to stay with another wonderful foster home, Jenny and George’s. Lisa and Steve had postponed some travel and Aunt Jenny and Uncle George were more than happy to welcome him. Over the last few weeks Moe’s health was declining. After a vet appointment earlier this week, it was decided that his quality of life was no longer fair to him.

Lisa and Steve returned from their travels on the day of his vet appointment. Jenny and George decided to take Moe to see Lisa and Steve so they could see him and be a part of his goodbye. It was as if he waited for them to return, as his health took a sharp decline that evening. All 4 of his devoted foster parents surrounded him with love and he had the peaceful passing he deserved.

We send our deep gratitude to Lisa, Steve, Jenny, and George, for all they did for Moe. Our hearts break for you all.
