Sponsored by Lynda Gallagher – Happy Holidays from our house to yours! Love Baby

When June joined us in December 2025, she was very pregnant, and heartworm positive. On Christmas Eve, she gave birth to five beautiful puppies. She was an incredible mom from day one and, although in the first couple of weeks she experienced multiple complications that resulted in numerous vet visits,
Once the puppies were fully weaned, June was able to commence treatment. She successfully completed her treatment and sailed through the recovery time and will soon be able to resume full activity. Full details of her treatment will be shared with her adopter. Momma June remains on Advantage Multi as part of her protocol and will need to stay on this until February 2027.
It was also discovered that Momma June had a mammary mass that was removed in mid May. The histopathology found the mass to be a low grade (grade 2) mammary carcinoma. All of the margins were clear and there was no vascular invasion. This all bodes very well for June and statistically there is an 85% chance that the surgery was curative. We are happy to share her histopatholgy report with serious applicants.
Momma June has had quite a bit to deal with during her time with us and we are thrilled that she is a happy, healthy girl.
June is your typical hound: sweet, affectionate, and very loyal to her people. When June first came into care, it became clear she was a dog who hadn’t had much. She hoarded toys and bones as though they were limited resources, and she became very attached to her people in a way that is common for dogs who are not used to a lot of affection. She is, by default, a “good” dog, but it was clear that no one had ever given her training or boundaries.

To set her up for success in her new home, June was enrolled in a three-week training program once her medical treatment was completed. In those short three weeks, we saw June’s confidence grow and, with that, her enjoyment of being around other dogs and new people. She now has a beautiful foundation of training for her family to build upon. And the next step? To finally find her the family she has been waiting for!

June is a sensitive dog who would do best in a calm and quiet home. She loves walks and being with her people. She is fully house-trained and has no separation anxiety, so she is fine being left alone during the workday. She could happily live with another balanced dog or as an only dog. She will need a home committed to continuing her training and building her confidence. June truly thrives in an environment with boundaries and structure, where she knows what is expected of her.

She is such a special dog who has had an incredibly rough year and more than deserves the perfect home.

Her perfect adopter:
– enjoys getting out of the house, which will keep June social
– would be dedicated to daily walks and exercise to also help her lose weight
– can build her confidence and encourage her, be firm with boundaries and guidance
– would enjoy practicing the various skills she’s learned, so she can show off her talent
– a fenced yard, she needs a space she can exercise in off leash and follow her nose
June is a love bug and will reward her adopter with her companionship. She is simply looking for a loving calm home, half of a couch and someone to gently remind her she doesn’t really need that extra snack.
